Winter in January

Winter in January

I have some garden ideas brewing in my head for this year. Of course January has already brought us snow, wind and freezing rains, but that hasn’t stopped me from plotting and window shopping online. We have a few things to take care of first, but my hope is to get a small greenhouse with  Read more »

Let the sunshine in

Tree’s get a trim

Planting Shrubs and Perennials

Getting some plants for the front area when ever I can. The recent finds were … several Velvet Boxwood and a Heather (after a lovely chat with a nice woman I have decided I want to get a few more of these some time. At the time I hadn’t been sure of their hardiness).. Dianthus  Read more »

Daffy’s Are Blooming

Well, Double Narcissus, but lets just call ‘em Daffy’s. =) The flower beds are filling in nicely. I may need to spot plant some more bulbs this fall just to fill it in a bit more next year. But so far so pretty.

Pathway

Pathway

The nicer weather has prompted me to do a bit of spring Home Depot shopping. I needed some more landscape cloth to finish the sitting area I am creating up front. I also found some stepping stones made from recycled tire. They are pretty cool, and textured so they aren’t a slippery surface when wet.  Read more »

Squirrelly Wrath!

Squirrelly Wrath!

Last Fall I planted a whole whack of crocus bulbs along the side walk.  3 per hole. I noticed they were sprouting last week and was very excited … alas this week, as they began to get their flower, it looks like our squirrel friends dug them up as a tasty buffet treat. *whaaaa* They  Read more »
