One Sunny Day in February
Boy it was a gorgeous day out. I did quite a bit today.
Started my misadventures inside by turning off the heater and opening all the windows upstairs. Glorious!
After a few of the normal household chores were out of the way I went around the house hanging the crystals Aaron got me for Christmas in the windows.
Rainbows everywhere! I love it! I’m so happy to have rainbows inside again. *happy sigh*
Once the crystals were all hung and sparkling away I decided to tackle the window box above the kitchen sink.
I emptied it of all of my plants and do-dads and started the shelf scrub down and window cleaning process. That didn’t take too long.
Once things were all sparklie clean I went to work on my poor plants. Rinsing their leaves off well and giving them a nice big drink of water before putting them back into the window box.
They seemed to appreciate it immensely. *yay* I also strung up a big pink crystal in the window for kitchen sparklies. (as you might have gathered I am big on the sparklies *grins*)
Once I’d finished upstairs I decided to grab my iPod and head outside to do a bit of back yard maintenance. That started out innocently enough. I scrubbed the bird bath and was letting it soak for a bit while I eye balled the mess under our carport.
On thing led to another and I was dragging the mess out of the carport to get things more organized. *lol* After I got a bit of it moved out I decided I wanted to put up a wall of sorts. Something to hang stuff on. Something to make things look tidier.
Luckily we are drowning in renovation scraps still (until I have a few dozen more spontaneous building frenzy’s that is. *hehehe*) And we had some monsterous long cedar boards that weren’t getting used for anything. One thing led to another and I had built a removable half wall at the end of the carport.
I’m quite pleased with how it turned out, considering it’s all scrap materials I was working with.
Once I got it up and secured I started working on organization and clean up..
Here’s where I stopped for today…..
The Wall is up.
The remaining mess of boards are to the right, as well as a big bunch behind the wall I built (There’s a lot left still to create with *squee*)
I moved the mini storage shed from the side of the house (where it wasn’t being used) to under the carport. I moved the garden tools and leaned them up against the wall ’til I put up a beam to hang them up.. (And our wheelbarrow and handcart are on the other side of the wall, propped up.)
But it’s already looking a lot better under there. I’ll be back at it tomorrow.
Still a ways to go before I’m totally happy with it, but it’s getting there.
